
CAREN Users at L'Institut de Réadaptation en Déficience Physique de Québec-City ( IRDPQ )
A CAREN system has been set up in Quebec-city and is since then being used for research. The research is done by dr. Carol Richards, Dr. Brad McFaydon and Dr. Francine Malouin.
Dr. Carol Richards has been involved in the study of movement as a therapeutic tool to enhance human health, and is also holder of a Canada Research Chair in Rehabilitation.
Dr. Bradford McFadyen is a specialist working within the CIRRIS on the study of locomotor adaptations, particularly anticipatory adjustments, for environmental constraints. His research looks specifically at locomotor strategies used for obstacle avoidance and surface accommodation (changes in surface level and type) in both healthy and pathological populations.
Dr. Francine Malouin is a specialist in neurorehabilitation, and is particularly interested in the link between motor imagery ability and cognitive function and the use of mental practice to improve the learning of motor skills.
